WHAT IS FAITH? (Part 1)
Shalom women of God. Welcome back to our exciting series on faith. I have really missed you all and sorry for being late. I am confident that you will be blessed by these two packages on the definition of faith.
We started off by explaining why there was a need for faith especially in our times. We concluded that the number one ingredient of success for ‘giants’ in the Bible was faith and it has not changed and will never change in the future. Then the question changes to what faith is. Faith is beautifully defined in Hebrews 11 as
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Let’s throw more light on the definition by defining the key words in it.
Substance : First of all faith is described as a substance. One of the greatest errors of our time is that we have reduced Faith to something abstract. To say something is abstract is to say it only exists in the mind and it is not physically concrete. But I submit that faith is even more concrete than the very ground you are standing or sitting on right now.
Yes Faith can not be appreciated physically but it’s reality is not in the soulical realm or the realm of the mind either. Faith is a spiritual reality. It can be touched, felt, seen, smelt etc. It is important to add that while faith is substance it can only be appreciated spiritually. However, the effects of faith is seen physically.
So I partly define faith as a spiritual entity which produces physical results. This is true as a careful walk through scriptures show faith and its concomitant physical results. An example is in Genesis where Elohim walked upon the isles of eternity and by faith produced this Earth and the Heavens. Now we’re walking on the Earth which is a result of the faith released by God.
Shalom women of God. I trust that we will by the end of the series know how to release our faith to get the much needed results in all phases of our lives. Kindly do well to go through the next session. It shall surely bless you.
